You need to check for water stagnation in your basement before allocating a path for you French drain.

You need to excavate a trench after finding the path in the basement. This is considered as one of the toughest part while constructing a French drain. The trench should be minimum nine inches deep and you need to fill them with pipe and gravel. After this method you have to cover the pipe with gravels and then you need to lay a sod to hide it out of sight.
